CORONAVIRUS ADVICE

COVID Update November 2021

We continue to follow guidance from our Chief Dental Officer who has advised us to prioritise dental care for patients based on urgency and priority groups such as those more at risk of dental disease, children and vulnerable adults. We are also giving priority to patients with pain, swelling and those with a broken tooth or lost filing/crown. We also want to see patients with periodontal (gum) disease who can see a dentist or hygienist. Our hygienist has availability for patients to be seen on a private basis at a cost from £45 and this can be very beneficial for all of these patients.

We also want to offer appointments for non urgent care. This includes routine check ups and follow up appointments deemed necessary to maintain good oral health. However we still face many challenges with the extra time required to operate safely during this pandemic. Because of this we have far fewer appointments available for non urgent care and there is likely to be a longer wait than normal to secure an appointment. Some of these will not be available until later next year. If you do need to attend the practice, please be assured that the welfare of patients and staff is of paramount importance and we are following the strictest measures possible to ensure everyone remains safe. Please note that the wearing of a mask whilst in the practice remains mandatory unless you are medically exempt. This is for the welfare and peace of mind of everyone in the building.

Please only attend the practice if you have an appointment and please attend alone if possible and arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment. This helps to reduce the number of patients in the building and helps us to practice social distancing. Please note that patients may be asked to wait outside if the waiting room is at full capacity.
